My research, performed in collaboration with colleagues in Paul Wennberg's and John Seinfeld's groups, focuses on elucidating the oxidation mechanisms of volatile organic compounds, with a particular aim of highlighting the major processes contributing to secondary organic aerosol formation.  Currently, I am studying the interaction of the nitrate radical with such compounds, which is important in nighttime chemistry and may play an important role in tropospheric ozone formation.
